 Sung, who is in China to participate in the Boao Forum for Asia, held a meeting with Miao, head of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, in which the two sides agreed that Seoul and Beijing should cooperate more intensely to prepare for the arrival of the fourth industrial revolution.

During the meeting, Sung said that South Korea and China can maintain a mutually beneficial relationship in the next-generation vehicle industry, such as hydrogen vehicles, suggesting that the two sides should join forces to establish a global network. of the hydrogen supply system.

Sung also expressed hope that foreign vehicle manufacturers could participate in China in fair competition with local manufacturers in the electric vehicle segment, following the Chinese government's plan to suspend subsidies in 2021.

The South Korean minister also urged a fair and reasonable decision by China in the current "anti-dumping" investigation of the South Korean chips, as well as its evaluation of the purchase of Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co.

The two ministers agreed that Seoul and Beijing have achieved considerable agreement in the pursuit of growth, especially through the manufacturing sector, and said they should continue to seek cooperation in other sectors.

The South Korean minister met in the forum with the businessmen of both countries, in which he presented the South Korean industrial strategies, including that of the autonomous vehicles and smart factories that operate with the 5G network.
