Last September 30th, was held a lunch at the Spain- Korea Commerce Chamber headquarters, where the State Secretary for Telecommunications and the Information Society (SSTI), Mr. Victor Calvo- Sotelo Ibáñez Martín was attended as a guest, as well as other representatives of the leading Spanish and Korean companies associated to the Chamber including among them Repsol, Banco Santander, Samsung, Airbus Military, OHL, El Corte Inglés, Chopard, Lamaignere Cargo as well as the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Spain.
 
 
After the welcome words to all the attendees by the State Secretary General of the Chamber, Mr. Jorge Salaverry Romero, Mr Victor Calvo- Sotelo Ibáñez –Martín offered an interesting chat to all the attendees on the general situation of the Telecommunications Sector, both at the national and EU level, emphasizing the importance to strength the already existing commercial relations between Korea and Spain. The result of those relations was the creation of the Spanish Chamber in Korea as a nexus between the commercial sectors of both countries.
 
The State Secretary also highlighted the importance that the new technological solutions should have in the Telecommunications area in those commercial relations, and reminded that one of the main functions that the SSTI develops regarding the implantation and development of the new communication tools resulting from the technological innovation are promoting the use of those tools.
 
On the other hand, the representatives of the associated companies attending the lunch that have presence in Korea, had the occasion to show the State Secretary his progress concerning the new information technology when offering its products and services to their clients, and the need to pass a more updated and wide regulation that may lead to put into practice the new utilities that the progress in technology and innovation may offer was discussed among other issues.
