The South Koreqan Government has decided to make an effort on including its food and gastronomy in the Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, announced this Monday the Korean Agriculture Ministry.
In a meeting for promoting tourism, chaired by the president Park Geun-hye, the Ministry unveiled a plan for the development of the politic related with the Korean food, which includes their plan of making the Korean food, part of the Heritage list of the UNESCO.
 
“With the objective of promoting and getting the world to know the value of Korean food, we decided to press ourselves for the inclusion of food and korean gastronomy in the Cultural Heritage of UNESCO” Said an official, adding that they will create an special team that will make the previous studies and the set out.
 
Last year, the “kimjang”, the tradition of preparing and sharing “kimchi”, was appointed as intangible heritage of the Unesco. South Koreans prepare “Kimchi”, which is a traditional spicy cabbage dish, before the long winter, and share it with their friends and relatives.
 
In 2010, French gastronomy was included in the list of the intangible cultural heritage of the UNESCO. Was the first time that a cultural cuisine was declared Humanity Heritage
