SEOUL, Nov. 26 ( Yonhap) - Foreign travelers who visited South Korea in the first ten months of this year exceeded 10 million , representing an increase from a year earlier , reported Tuesday the Institute of Culture and Tourism South Korea ( KCTI , according to its acronym in English ) .
The accumulated foreign tourists who came to the country number reached million at the end of October this year, an increase of 9.3 percent over the previous year.
In the case last year, the figure exceeded the 10 million mark by the end of November.
By country, Chinese tourists this year accounted for 36.5 percent of all foreign travelers to South Korea, registering 3,774,000 , followed by Japanese with million .
In 2012, foreign tourists who entered the country totaled million, marking the first time such number exceeded 10 million .
Meanwhile, the number of Korean travelers abroad was 12.487 million at the end of October, an increase of 9.1 percent compared with the same period last year.
