Mexico City , October 22 ( Yonhap ) - A trade delegation from the Ministry of Industry , Trade and Energy of South Korea visited Mexico City to discuss measures to expand cooperation in the energy sector and increase investments of South Korean firms in the Latin American country .

The delegation, led by the head of the department of trade and investment ministry, Kwon Pyung -oh, held meetings from Monday to Tuesday (local time), in Mexico City , with representatives of the ministries of Economy and Energy and the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade , Technology and Investment ( COMCE ) .

During their meeting, Kwon sought support from the Mexican government for the two countries to continue cooperation in the mining sector and South Korean companies win more orders in the markets for oil and electricity plants.

Also, the leader of the South Korean delegation urged the Mexican government's interest so that they can continue investments by Korean firms in the country, explaining the difficulties that South Korean companies operating in Mexico.

Moreover, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of South Korea and the Agency for the Promotion of Trade and Investment South Korea, along with the COMCE , held a business forum on Tuesday , with the participation of about 80 representatives of government and business sectors .

The CEO of COMCE, Lorenzo Ysasi Martinez said that Mexico is a great country as an investment destination for South Korean automotive forecasting areas , air and mail will be promising.
