SEOUL, Aug. 8 (Yonhap) - Technology giant South Korea, LG Electronics Inc., presented on Thursday its latest smartphone, the LG G2, in the domestic market, in order to further strengthen its presence in the global market for high-end smartphones.

The smartphone, 5.2-inch, debuted in New York on Wednesday to compete with rivals, including devices from Samsung Electronics Co. and Apple Inc.

The device is priced at around 954 800 ($ 900), similar to the Galaxy S4 LTE, which was released in June by Samsung Electronics, the world's largest maker of smartphones.
The LG G2 will be released through 130 mobile operators around the world in late October, including AT & T, Sprint and NTT DoCoMo, according to LG.
LG Electronics aims to sell 10 million units of LG G2 worldwide, twice as many as the previous targets for Optimus Optimus G and G Pro.
