SEOUL, June 24 (Yonhap) - The Penal Service of South Korea, a part of the Ministry of Justice, held on Monday in Seoul, a seminar on cooperation with Latin America in the areas of public safety and prison.

During the seminar, in which the heads of penal administration of seven member countries of the Central American Integration System (SICA), Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras and Panama, and Mexico, presented the current situation of the prison system in his country and discussed ways to expand trade with South Korea in the area of ​​corrections.

As part of the seminar, the Penal Service South Korea with his Mexican counterpart signed a memorandum of understanding on mutual cooperation to strengthen their cooperation through the exchange of information related to the system correcccional.

The country's Justice Ministry hoped that the seminar is an opportunity to give to the world the excellence of the criminal administration of South Korea and to lay the foundations for the export of prison management system to Latin American countries.
