SEOUL, April 3 (Yonhap) -- South Korean handset maker LG Electronics Inc. said Wednesday it plans to release the "Lucid 2," its long-term evolution (LTE) smartphone in the United States later this week.

LG Electronics is scheduled to roll out the mid- to low-range LTE smartphone via U.S. mobile carrier Verizon Wireless on Thursday, according to the company.
